Logistics management in SMEs of the service sector in Loja: Analysis of supply, storage, and customer service processes

This research analyzes logistics management in SMEs in the service sector of Loja during 2025, focusing on supply, storage, and customer service processes. The main objective was to evaluate the current state of these processes within the companies. A quantitative approach, deductive method, and non-experimental cross-sectional design were applied. Data were collected through structured surveys administered to 226 SMEs selected using stratified convenience sampling. The results reveal logistical weaknesses, such as dependence on a single supplier, informal agreements, limited infrastructure, delays due to lack of supplies, and insufficient performance measurement. In addition, high costs, lack of training, and poor planning were identified. There is interest in implementing collaborative logistics as an alternative to improve coordination and resource optimization. It is concluded that current logistics management is insufficient, affecting the efficiency, service continuity, and competitiveness of SMEs, while collaborative logistics represents a viable opportunity to strengthen their performance.
